For those who've never heard of poutine, a brief description is in order. Poutine is a delicacy that can be found in the French speaking areas of Canada. It consists of a bowl of french fries, topped with fresh cheese curds and then smothered in brown gravy. Sounds disgusting, but let me tell you, it is a delicacy that one can become quickly addicted to. Thankfully I've never found it in the USA and since fresh cheese curds aren't a common item at my local grocery store I'm not able to recreate it at home. This spares my arteries from the fat onslaught and limits my poutine consumption to my annual bike trip to Canada.
